if u catch me on the right day i will admit w/ my full chest that knuckles the echidna is my favorite non-sonic character introduced in the entire franchise
his design is so fucking cool! legit one of the first times i had ever considered coding in character design lmao, from the rasta colored shoes to him being an islander w/ dreadlocks, i thought tht was so neat!! definitely a tricky character to draw tho, especially since i draw a lot of classic sonic fanart where knux' face is just sorta lumpier lmfao
i thought boom knuckles looked pretty alright too but i legit Hate how they wrote him in the show lmfao (that's a whole separate thing tho)
i think a lot about him and his backstory n i wish sega would give him more to do aside from just guarding the master emerald lmao, it's always good to see him join the gang on their adventures. i wonder a lot abt how it must've felt to have learned abt his ppl and the emerald, like as far as the games' canon goes . maybe they can expand upon it via the comics? tails n amy got 30th anniversary one-shots, i hope knux gets one next year! it's about time we had a Good knuckles comic. v eager for the paramount miniseries too
on tht note, i think the movie helped solidify knux as one of my top 5 guys in the series since it's the first time in ages tht new media's come out tht doesn't pigeonhole knuckles as a total fucking doofus idiot. i'm glad that they made him a loner prone to being Fooled bc he isn't used to socialization, rather than just making him a dumb meathead just for the sake of it.
also he's consistently had some of the coolest music associated w/ him in the entire series. one of my default stims is just tapping out his theme from sonic 3 w/ pens or whatever i've got in my hand + his SA2 tracks were Legendary
