ah yes, let's go from openly asking people "yes or no," to giving them a fake scale which still only has two possible outcomes, but doesn't tell you which ones mean "yes" and which ones mean "no"
the purpose of a four-point scale should be to get four numbers! if you want two numbers, give two options!
i'm not surprised anymore by politicians being incompetent and ignorant but like. people who work with Data???? one would think you'd have to be nerdy in a specific way to survive in that kind of career without either spinning out or sleeping at your desk all day. it feels like something you shouldn't be able to do incompetently but alas,
i work in data and unfortunately a lot of us do just do what’ll give us the numbers we want to see (rather than numbers that are correct)
yeeeahhh this is what i've gleaned from-- too many podcasts and articles to name addressing too many topics to summarize that all feed back into the same set of Capitalism Problems. it's easier to massage data to look better than it is to fix or acknowledge problems. 🙃
