found this song during a pretty rough period in 2021. dug around through whosampled and stumbled upon this as a song which sampled a favorite disco classic ("gimme what you got" by le pamplemousse) and it's stuck with me for years.
the rhodes are really gentle and i love the incorporation of one of my favorite drum breaks! ("hihache" by the lafayette afro rock band, but specifically the crunchy ass version from "nobody beats the biz" by biz markie hehe)
i feel like this song is very me, particularly by way of juxtaposing sweet lyrics and themes/gentle instrumentation with a bouncier, textured drum break and funky disco bass. it's multifaceted and i love this entire album for this reason, i hope to contain even a third of the multitudes this record does ;w;
