I wanted to stream video games on Discord. It didn't work on Wayland, but it worked on Xorg.
Still no sound, though.
I'm going to note down any differences I notice between Xorg and Wayland.

There is a way to get discord on linux to stream audio, but it's a little tricky. You need to set up an additional sink in pulse, then redirect the game's audio and your microphone to the sink, and set the sink as your audio input device in discord. This does mean that your audience can't adjust your mic levels independently from the game audio, but typically you only really need to do that once when you start up the stream.
Good luck streaming!
Thanks for the advice!
I'm also trying to find a solution that works without me needing to switch on my microphone. Sometimes I just want to stream the game without commentary.
Oh that's totally possible! You can just set discord to treat the sink as your microphone, and mute the mic itself or don't direct it to the sink. The idea being that you're using the "mic" to just broadcast the game audio. The sink itself is just a virtual audio device- you can choose what you want to give it. Then you could just change which input device you want for the mic in discord if you want to switch between game audio or your actual microphone.
