the blast turned the surviving japanese people into powerful magic users. they moved into small colonies across the world. the united nations didn't let them leave. anyone who left became a wanted criminal.
but some did leave: may, anji, and baiken.
may is a pirate, evading capture by flying aboard a massive airship.
anji hides his ancestry to travel the world and investigate the man who blew up his country.
baiken is an outlaw, living away from most of society and seeking to protect those close to her.
