Thinking about this incredible series of Japanese Dreamcast ads starring the actual managing director of SEGA at the time as a down-on-his-luck and sad version of himself, struggling to sell the Dreamcast because nobody wants one and then struggling to sell the Dreamcast because too many people want one, getting overshadowed by a teenage celebrity, getting beaten up and having shit thrown at him, having nightmares about children laughing at him. It's pretty awesome
even if you've never seen these ads, you might know Yukawa from this oft-shared image from What's Shenmue? promotional demo—the demo was an original vignette themed around Ryo searching for Yukawa in Dobuita, and eventually revealed to be a dream by Yukawa, who's stressed out about trying to make Shenmue a hit
