On last Thursday's show, there was a Jeopardy! prompt and response that almost had me do a spit-take:
Prompt: "The nonprofit Free Software Foundation promotes this hyphenated type of software that, by definition, can be modified & shared"
Correct response: "What is open source?"
Never mind that the response wasn't hyphenated in the closed captioning and that I've essentially never seen the term "open source" rendered as open-source.
That's just such a HUGE poke in the side of the FSF that I want to believe that the writer was trolling. I'm pretty sure they weren't, and it was just the general unawareness that Jeopardy writers bring to most technical topics, but wow. I don't know if I could have come up with a better way to troll Stallman and his fans in a Jeopardy clue if I tried.
