Have recently become aware of the theorized 'goldilocks period' not long after the birth of the universe wherein the whole universe would have been at an acceptable temperature for life to flourish.
It's a fascinating idea that would explain the sheer number of planets with possible biochemistry that we've been detecting recently - panspermia might have been commonplace at that time.
On the other hand, it's pretty spooky because it leads to the possibility that someone out there has a solid 10 billion year head start on us. Maybe more.
