I've been meaning to switch away from a corporate chain for a while now. but today I found out that my local walgreens had its entire pharmacy team just walk out 2 weeks ago, and in the meantime corporate has done absolutely nothing to make sure consumers know about the interruption in service. I had to look on Google to find out that the pharmacy is "temporarily closed until further notice;" while I had already walked into the store just to find the pharmacy shuttered with their normal hours posted and absolutely no in-person explanation for why the shutters are closed during regular business hours.
and then on my way home, literally right around the corner from the neighborhood, I got an automated call from walgreens reminding me to pick up my prescription at the closed location. that was the last straw. at least I've called the new pharmacy and gotten the transfer process started, but I'm grumpy as hell tbh because walgreens already hasn't been filling my meds correctly for over 2 weeks now and the last thing I need is for the new pharmacy to have any trouble moving shit over. it's a good thing I don't throw out old meds, because my backup Lexapro and guanfacine have been saving my ass this week. I really hope the new place can get me my shit soon
