it's just very cool to have my discord servers full of queer folks and furries, of all different ages and walks of life, all coming together to talk about video games and share pictures of our pets. this shit rules

it's also thanks to discord that I've been able to keep in touch with my close irl friends who moved across the country, even over 10+ years. obviously there's much to be said about the effort we all put into maintaining those relationships, but having the ability to stream a jackbox or play D&D a couple times a week is a tremendous boon for hanging out online. I have a couple friends coming into town this weekend and it'll be my first time seeing one of them in like 3.5 years-- and I'm just so glad that we've had the ability in the meantime to chat and keep that relationship going.

just feeling hugely happy for the fact that we live in a time period where communicating across the world and sharing online experiences are easier than ever before. I love the tiny trans people in my computer

I think I'm coming back up out of the downswing now, but man I miss my partners a lot tonight

hard not to feel like I should punish myself for not doing better. think I should distract myself with some gaming after I eat my dinner
