I was expecting a lot more in-depth trauma work tbh. I'm not sure whether to be proud of myself or have impostor syndrome about it and seek out another specialist

me: yeah I've been feeling really good this week! I had a couple minor stressful events and was able to talk myself back down

therapist: great! well you seem like you have everything you need, best of luck over the holidays

me, in my brain: oh god I've convinced her that I'm totally fine. oh no. what have I done

my big thing is that i finally got my life together and, in the process of doing so, found a kind of inner peace that i'd only dreamed of. also i've been building my own game engine and wrote like half of a book

I have also been working really hard on getting my life together, which for me means a hell of a lot of therapy. but that therapy has done immeasurable good in my life, and along the way I've been getting back into some of the hobbies I lost interest in for years like painting, cross stitch, and piano. I painted my first landscape, I finished a cross stitch project for the first time since 2018, and I've finally memorized Debussy's Clair de Lune. I'm even actually practicing piano on a semi-regular basis again (which is something I haven't done reliably for over a decade!)

I still feel like there's plenty of work to do on myself, but I feel so much more confident about going into 2023 with the foundation I've laid this year.
