to me it's actually like genuinely crazy that trans women and other TMA people literally can't have any form of public space and/or public presence--ESPECIALLY when it comes to online spaces like social media for example, without a whole gaggle of very vocal transmisogynistic fucks bursting out through the door and are seemingly physically incapable of minding their own business and NOT harassing trans women, speaking over trans women, refusing to give trans women any quarter, and just making the lives of trans women miserable every step of the way
it ultimately all depends on how cohost's staff handles it all and that's kinda a dice throw, it isn't like tumblr where everything's dictated by a transmisogynistic boyking manchild who threatens to call the FBI on predstrogen (someone who's half his age mind you), openly sleeps in the same bed as TERFs, and just lets actually genuinely dangerous people like ezra toonimal run amok without any consequence while orbitally striking the blogs of vocal trans women on the site just cause--obliterating their online presence and social + financial lifelines in the process.
but then again! that's an INCREDIBLY low bar to clear. the bar is in the earth's inner core at this point.
YES, maybe the trans women on this site are doomposting, but when there's such a deliberate, focused, and substantial effort to try to drive you out of social media while wanting to coopt your own culture without wanting to have the actual baggage that comes with being a trans woman... wouldn't you be pissed? wouldn't you be jaded and angry too?
especially when you think you've settled on a site where you think you can rest and FINALLY get away from the unfettered, unchecked transmisogyny of tumblr--only for those same transmisogynists to hop into cohost in droves and to do it all over again only a few weeks later?
i'm just tired of this shit. trans women deserve better. us transfems deserve to have a space where we can just EXIST freely and not have to spend all of our time trying to survive and metaphorically swat away the entire force of the ocean with a broom
