well, the idea of global warming feeds into the whole "end of days" thing which is great for customer retention increasing attendance and therefore increasing "donations" which means that the people giving the sermons are actually clever enough to know that saying global warming isn't a thing is counterproductive if you're trying to build a little cult. therefore you won't hear this kind of thing from the pulpit. also, the people not standing at the pulpit are generally too busy to read the actual book so interpreting such things in such a way almost never happens.
