this was fun! it's a convenient way to take stock on where you're at sentimentally; how much you're affected by OG nostalgia, or the novelty of recency bias. I like to think I'm roughly approximately stretched between the two, with some @christmas cheer thrown in for good measure? but the top row are ultimately the aesthetic and presence most dear in my heart.

yes!! wartortle and charmeleon especially stand out in 2d (and in the old TCG), even if they lose a little bit of the charm in the move to three dimensions - i felt bad leaving them (and combusken, etc) out, but of course there's only 20 that can fit here. tbh I find that i judge new starter trios by their middle stage design, because nearly everyone has a "cute" first stage and "awesome" third stage
pokemon is best when it's lots of little guys... and then a few big guys who i could ride on (klawf, entei, dhelmise, wo-chien.. especially klawf, who i would spend every day of my life with if i could)
Very very true. I hadn't seen Klawf or Wo-Chien before cause I only really have passing awareness of most Pokemon not in either B2/W2 or US/UM hahah.
b2/w2 the best! but yeah for klawf you have to imagine this crab is 4 ft. tall but 10 ft. wide, and a sort of appealling round flatness and stability for riding that just says "friend!!"
they're the best!! a perfect blend of unassuming, precocious, competent, and effervescent. if i hadn't modeled my entire living room off of an ivysaur theme and palette, they could be number #1 (but ivysaur is tough to beat)
