so John Wick 2 contains a fairly anodyne sequence where the titular assassin does John Wick stuff on a subway train. It is, according to audible narration, a "northbound C train". the sequence begins in what is clearly the Oculus (given the distinctive architecture and visible signage) and a running battle continues into the NJ-bound PATH platforms. I thought "oh huh, is this sequence going to involve them going to Jersey City?"
well, yes and no. they get on the train, do a fight on the train, and then the doors open at what the film claims is "Rector Street." That's Exchange Place! You can barely tell in my screenshot, but it's clearly a PATH stop and not an MTA stop. I was hoping to be able to tell if John Wick is going to Hoboken or Jersey City, but I didn't get a good view of wherever the train goes next. When the action leaves the train, the action is back in NYC (the Bowery, specifically).
I guess it's easier to commandeer a PATH platform and train for filming than it is the NYC subway? Almost nobody in the world is going to care about this detail but it did succeed at taking me right out of the movie. Anyway all the stuff that's not NYC-area transit minutiae is fine. it was a decent movie imo
