I think there's a decent Magnus Archives fic to be written from the concept of a lost media researcher who falls into being an avatar of The Eye
Like someone else sees this right? It's screaming in the back of my head whenever I consume "lost media" content. Especially recently, in the mainstream, it's always just this shotgun of content, hounding after even the faintest, most scant memories of a movie, a song, a screen on a TV in the background of a childhood photo. 30 second, 15 second, 3 second snippets of songs, commercials, TV bumpers only in service for a month, live streams that only happened once, shaped into entire communities going over archives with fine toothed combs to identify something, irregardless the quality, how relevant it ever was. Something that the searchers never even experienced originally.
