so i'm gradually working thru the last "domino drop" (if u will), and i got thru tear ripple today and it was soooo lovely. lots of notes but they are mainly all "wow I love this so much!", but what if i said more than that?
- the music is of course incredible (i'm also listening thru path of killerman while i write this lol, love not having to rip the oggs out myself) and not only that but it's also so perfectly paired and timed with the action, especially the late-game "path" scene; it's such a simple moment textually but it moves with the visual and audio so perfectly that i was really sincerely lit up and scared!
- the attentiveness to the materiality of the digital photos and how that folds in narratively? whew, chef's kiss
- the lil spinny squishy spirograph type thing in the menu barrrrrrr, shoutout specifically to that
- handles the fragmented narrative soooo good; this is something i'm really struggling w on my hypertext rn actually is how to make a fragmented perspective uhhh, possible for readers to understand?? and like ofc visual novels are already a pretty well-developed way of handling that particular mode, but this just really moves with a lot of self-assuredness that i really admire and am inspired by!
- and of course the themes, the sexy beautiful guts of the fucking story, GEEZ, don't even get me STARTED
