  • Doesn't take any shit from anyone, ever
  • Competent in her field but has a well rounded life
  • Good at adapting to any situation she faces
  • Not defined by any one aspect of her life - she's a companion, a professional, a wife, a mother, a badass, and more
  • Sarcasm that is both scathing and well aimed
  • Values her independence and autonomy and will protect them fiercely but no so much so she'll let herself end up screwed for refusing help
  • Will slap a motherfucker if they have it coming but won't throw hands needlessly
  • Supportive of her queer daughter
  • Draws her strength from who she is as a person, not stereotypical behaviors of any gender
  • Comfortable in her body

Honestly like, I'd argue Donna Noble isn't just the perfect woman, she's a great role model regardless of gender while still being a flawed enough character to be interesting to watch have adventures with an immortal time wizard.

I also appreciated that they were like, actual friends. The modern doctors have had precious few real friends and honestly it sort of felt like one the more tragic parts of their story to harp on. The when he had to distance himself from Donna for her safety was probably the second hardest I cried during Doctor Who, only beat out by the end of Tennant's run when he showed up at her wedding to give her a wedding gift without her even recognizing him.
