Another day another blockage :eggbug-pensive:

Possible causes I can think of:

  • eating too much cheese on the nachos last night
  • not eating anything yesterday 'til 3pm
  • not drinking a full 2 liters of water yesterday
  • trying a new multivitamin for the second consecutive day
  • eating those Costco frozen Korean dumplings two days ago that were fine but maybe they're not any more
  • eating some delicious takeout pasta for the second day in a row, maybe fine the first day but bad reheated or two days in a row
  • maybe Nesquik cereal... But a full on blockage would be different than sometimes I wonder if it hurts my stomach BUT I did eat it later in the day than I usually do

These are the fun considerations I have with a stoma. Glad I'm autistic and ache for logical, causal relationships between things. Glad I'm chronically ill and autistic. Really glad. Scope on Monday though, honestly crossing my fingers for something like twisted up vs inflammation to the point of needing to be on meds again, but we'll fuckin see.

in reply to @fred's post:

I have had an ostomy for just over 6 months now (an ileostomy as well!) and will have it the rest of my life due to complications caused by UC (well and that whole rectal cancer thing). So you have my sympathies and empathies!

I haven't had to deal with a blockage yet. It sounded very scary when the nurses were describing it. They were very adamant about drinking tons of water.

Hell yeah, permanent stoma pals (colon out due to the Crohn's for me). I've had it for 2.5 years at this point, things seem to have shifted recently in some direction bc yeah, for a solid chunk of that time, I never even felt bad, let alone had a blockage. Just waiting til Monday I guess, for more info!
