I don't think I posted Asphalt Meadows and The Photo Album anywhere because I thought I'd wait to post my whole setup but then I got everything very piecemeal. In the end I didn't post those first two records I bought OR my setup so whatever lol.
Anyway, part of me getting into vinyl was because I thought it would be fun and cool to have DCFCs discography. I graduated high school in 2007, I grew up in the suburbs of Seattle, I was mega depressed, I was a band kid - it was basically predestined that I would fall in love with Ben Gibbard and the gang. My first concert was the Plans tour at Key Arena, where they played most of Transatlanticism and I have a fun anecdote that makes it seem like maybe I convinced Ben to change the set list and play Sound of Settling because I kept cheering for it in between songs from the front row. We'll never know!
Anyway, any time I discover a new-to-me Canadian record store online, I instinctively check for what DCFC they have. My spouse agreed to a monthly record budget and then a "get any DCFC I can find regardless of the monthly budget" budget which is very kind of them. So I found a new online store front, they had Something About Airplanes and Thank You For Today (the album cover/case design TYFT is beautiful btw, really pleased). And then last night the local shop posted on their IG they got some copies of Transatlanticism in so I was on their doorstep when they opened to pick one up.
