store-bought is fine

Maybe explains why I’ve never (to my knowledge) caught it despite not taking many precautions compared to a lot of people I know who got sick? I have bronchiectasis with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis and asthma so I definitely fit these criteria. Covid-19 trying to get into my lungs and finding nothing but scar tissue and slime is such a hilarious concept to me

I’m sorry, that has to have been a really hard thing to grow up with. May I ask whether it’s a static condition or a vicious cycle situation where it gets worse with recurrent infection?

I’ve only been dealing with respiratory disease for a comparatively short time, symptoms started coming on gradually in 2017 and I was diagnosed in 2022 after I got pneumonia twice in a year and they sent me for a CT. Wish I had gone in earlier so it wouldn’t have gotten this far, but didn’t start taking care of my health until pretty recently in life!

Wasn't an infection. Was just born premature and the alveoli kept sticking to each others then pop upon exhales and inhales until my lungs got big enough to not do that anymore.

Apologies for the misunderstanding. Was commenting on the part about how the coronavirus has difficulties finding surfaces to bind to.

Oh not at all! I’m sorry I didn’t phrase that well. With bronchiectasis the scarring spreads over time due to opportunistic infections, so I had just been curious whether that is also something that is a risk in your case.
