i've come to the conclusion that unseasoned sex appeal is, in itself, kind of a kink for some people. the overt objectification you see in video games or 90's pin up spreads or mobile game ads has elements of the kind of dehumanization you see in like, exhibitionism and stepfordization/bimbofication. i think you rarely see it presented quite that purely because the idea of it being a kink subverts the kinkiness of it for the viewer- which is the other half of it. i think the uncommented normalcy is part of the appeal, the idea that you're being catered to is part of the viewer inclusion in the kink. it's hard to distinguish tho because those are all types of sex appeal that are pretty politicized online.

i definitely ascribe to the viewpoint that "straightforward heterosexuality" (or whatever you want to call That Thing) is in itself a kink -- the difference is that it's normalized beyond the point of being a kink. it's just the one kink that the hegemonical viewpoint supports and thus doesn't attempt to marginalize.

God you're probably right and it's the purity is what really trips me up. Lacking that little bit of context I want so desperately from so much stuff but nah that's actually part of the kink 😭
