store-bought is fine

A simple solution to the “repost issue” is to simply go through your followers list and send each one an ask explaining that you intend to repost a certain post and linking it to them. Then they can tell you whether they have seen it already, and if so you can block them prior to reposting it. I believe if we all take these extra steps before reposting anything it should resolve this problem, which is extremely serious, dare I say dangerous

In a Certified Cohost Moment I’ve seen two people joking about people complaining about reposts so I decided to also make a joke about it, and yet I have not seen any of the people actually complaining if they even exist. Am I behaving irresponsibly here? Absolutely

I love Certified Cohost Moments. Carry on! It's lovely to see a trend and yet not see the source at all whatsoever. Personally (and no one asked but I'm sharing) I like seeing "reposts" because it lets me know when a post is really vibing with people I follow if it shows up a lot. If it's making the rounds. Obviously not about my own because I don't really post to be reblogged (at this point in time).

Same, I think it is a really nice way to get a feel for your friends’ tastes as well as who knows who on here without doing stuff like public follower lists. Feels very organic and less prone to who-follows-who drama

That is a good point! And I appreciate cohost so much for mitigating the potential of who-follows-who drama or people who want to look through note threads.

I could maybe see people not liking reposts if they follow A LOT of people so it might get annoying to see the same post passed around a lot if it's taking up most or a good section of your dash, but then I'm like, how do you know what's vibing? How do you know what everyone is interacting with?

That makes sense to me! To be clear, I was purely talking about my own feelings on the subject and how I don't understand the other perspective or feelings other people have or like how they go about it, but I did not in any way mean to put down different approaches or needs. Thank you for sharing a little bit about how you experience things.

Oh, I see what you're saying! I have used the silence post feature as a way of not seeing posts again if I don't like them for whatever reason. (Usually it's untagged stuff I wish I had been able to filter). I wonder/imagine that "silencing" feels mean so people don't want to do that for a repost annoyance solution?
