store-bought is fine

Dungeon People is the biggest flop I’ve ever seen, it’s ugly as sin and the blue-haired lolicon bait character is so offensively lazy and generic that I am cringing more at how creatively bankrupt the show is than I would at the inevitable yuribait fanservice I’m sure I would have encountered if I hadn’t turned this shit off 75% of the way through episode one. I don’t know why I expected anything different but the promotional materials just looked… better than this. Talk about phoning it in

I looked at the manga when the anime trailer came out and that turned me away big time. I have never seen an anime adaptation where the style was MORE detailed than the manga. Most panels have zero background, existing background designs are simple and generic, and characters lose their eyes and mouths if they're the slightest distance away. Even peeking at the latest chapters, these problems persist even if the character art is slightly cleaner.

The lack of effort was legitimately surprising to me. Identical, perfectly square corridors they reused for every shot, generic textures they would just paint over the corresponding materials…. Virtually no detail on any character, it was like they just drew the outlines and then did color fill. Almost bold in its laziness
