CONCEPTUALLY the idea of a maid cafe with a highly specific theme like ninjas, jiangshi, etc. is very funny to contemplate. REALISTICALLY spending 20-30 minutes eating a pretty bad omelet while a 22 year old woman trying to make rent stands in front of you acting like an anime character would make me run out of the restaurant and jump in front of a car

The Akiba Maid War cafe was going on in LA while I was there and this was almost exactly my calculus... of course, I haven't seen the anime so some of the context would be lost on me anyway. Fun idea though
It’s fun! Definitely got most of its mileage out of the gimmick but I would say good enough to be worth watching if you find that concept inherently funny.
