I cannot get a bead on The Elusive Samurai because it looks like a light historical drama with cute characters from all the ads I’m seeing but then I read discussions about it and people are like “I felt the child beheading sequence and the sexual assault scene in the village were overly gratuitous”

it's kinda doing both, there's some wild, intentional tonal swings. it's a historical drama about a war-filled period of history, so there's a lot of "the horrors of war" while also doing shonen manga shenanigans.
Interesting…. I’m very tempted to check it out even though I’m not a big shonen watcher actually, I was really impressed by the visuals I’ve seen
yeah it's got a lot of scenes with incredible animation, and i appreciate that the main boy is kind of a pervert about being put in life-threatening situations.
When I see it I’ll report back! Probably gonna be in a couple of days, I have so much I’m behind on…
