My lungs have been FRIED by this exacerbation for like five days now, I thought I had an upper respiratory infection for the first two nights because of the fever and night sweats but the lingering symptoms have me so wheezy with a dry cough and sinus irritation but not that much production that I think it might have been (Scooby Doo voice) allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis the whole time. I bet there is a lot of it in the air in Kyoto! Today I’m going to start using steroids on it and see if I was right. its really REALLY AMAZING. It’s like Chinatown mixed with Ghost in the Shell mixed with Satoshi Kon mixed with Scavengers Reign mixed with Blade Runner. MARS EXPRESS IS TO ME A 10/10 MOVIE. Possibly one of THE BEST FILMS IVE SEEN ALL YEAR. Loved it. This film taught me not to wear a watch when I go see a film; usually while I’m watching I sometimes check it to see how much time is left in a movie for no real reason other than I have a watch that lights up. this movie has everything you want: it's hot, it's got fights, it's got a mystery, and it's got questions about the nature of consciousness itself.

genuinely this movie was so good that i watched through the entire credits and then when the custodian came in to clean up the theater i told him to watch it cause it was so good. like i joked but one of the best bits about this movie is that it stars an alcoholic and a cool robot (not that cool tho he was a dick when he was human)

this movie is so amazingly animated, damn the french really having a renaissance rn with their animation. love the designs of the robots too. there's some really sick lookin ones.

Me: Ikuhara’s “incestuous” pairings are not really meant to be taken literally, a lot of his work is about the way people struggle and fail to bridge the chasm between the self and the other and the sibling represents the impossible fantasy of the fated lover who understands you utterly and effortlessly because they literally share your blood. If you have ever fantasized about having an identical twin it’s essentially the same thing, it’s an unreal level of intimacy that transcends sexuality. Ultimately, the family unit is usually portrayed as a mirage or a dead end that can never really save its participants from their isolation

It’s not my FAVORITE Penguindrum AMV but I think this one is really good because it edits footage from earlier in the series to flesh out the ending into a full epilogue in a way that I find satisfying and true to the story. Very ambitious and it really works IMO, the actual ending is so painful despite being optimistic so it’s nice to see a kinder reimagining
