A bit over a year ago, the Catalan public TV network rebooted its children's channel, and with it came a crapton of anime, as they used to air back in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's . They've brought back some old anime that aired back in the day1, and aired some new2.
But with the music industry being the piece of shit it is, they weren't allowed to dub most openings3, and for some preexisting dubs4, they weren't allowed to air the preexisting dubbed opening.
Here's the thing: the channel seems to be run by someone who doesn't give a fuck. Schedule is inconsistent, news on what's going to air after a show ends usually comes from leaks instead of official channels, thumbnails on the website are sometimes the exact same thumbnail used 15 years ago (including the channel's old watermark) and many, many times they've aired the old, standard definition, 4:3 episode instead of the newly edited HD file. You probably know where this is going.
Well, it turns out that those old files still have the dubbed opening and ending in them. The one that they're contractually not allowed to air. So far, they haven't gotten into any legal trouble, but I don't care about that. I care about the children.
Us old fuckers who were around back then know that these openings and ending were dubbed back then, and those are the songs we sang in the playground. Today's kids aren't aware of that, but that's okay, some shows have them, some don't. Except, now put yourself in the shoes of those kids. You've been listening to a show's opening for a few weeks now, you don't understand shit, save for the subtitles you probably don't care about5. And suddenly, one day, without any notice, the song has lyrics. Lyrics you understand. It's a catchy song. Your dad who's in the room with you maybe even knows it and sings along. There's been an official translation in your language hidden behind some deep magic you didn't know about. And the next day, it's gone. Nobody ever mentions it again. It might have been an imagination. A collective imagination if your classmates watched that too. And you won't know why.

They were only allowed Ronja and the first opening and ending of the og Inazuma Eleven (out of 6 op's and 7 ed's).

Inuyasha was allowed all op's and ed's except the first op. OP wasn't allowed anything. YYH and CCS were allowed everything. R½'s and Conan's were never dubbed.

They also took the strange decision to not match the subtitles to the dubbed lyrics. Might be for legal reasons, but it'd be cool if, even though they can't play it, they taught the kids these songs if they ever look them up online.
