Playing some classic RPGs on PS1 and PS2. There is always something special whenever you had to change discs to proceed.

If directed right, the disc change usually happens at a time in the game where it wraps up a certain arc, leave us at a shocking turning point in the story, or general "oh shit" moments. Introducing the player to the next part in the story.

Modern games just don't simply have this moment. A moment where the player can stop and process what just happened, or better yet, rush to get the next disc in.
