(taken from Death Stranding - Directors Cut photo mode, PC version max settings.)

I originally played Death Stranding on my PS4 Pro a year or so after covid started, totaling at around 150-200 hours or so. Last year I picked up the Directors Cut on PC and began playing again on my current PC and am already near 80 hours.

There are many things that got me into this game. Whether it's the setting and world building, the amazing visuals inspired largely by iceland, the mechanics and feeling of your feet and body interacting with the environment through a Dualsense controller, interacting with other players their signs and their built objects, or just... simply walking, driving and delivering packages.

Kojima's writing still remains... ehhh. But I can put it aside for a game that can combine great visuals, gameplay, and give me a generally great single player experience (outside of the interaction of users) that other AAA games don't give me. :eggbug:

in reply to @froey's post:

Yeah, the writing in the game is... okay to meh. I love the general lore of how the country is divided and everyone remains isolated. As great as Kojima is with world building, and collaborating with great talents... he needs a writer, a co-writer, and some editors. Someone that can say: "No, let's NOT do that."

...could be worse though. Could be Metal Gear Solid 4.

The second game will likely continue the same and the most I can ask for at this point is that character's get more than 2-4 repeated lines. If my dualsense controller breaks, it's going to be from mashing the skip button so many times. :eggbug-nervous:
