I was modding my 5+ year old logitech keyboard by doing the painter's tape mod which helps reduce the noise inside the keyboard and love how it turned out. I am considering adding o-rings to help with the noise from the cheap plastic keys and getting some new rubber skid pads to replace the small ones under the keyboard and...
I might be getting into ANOTHER hobby. 
Right now I am just doing mods, but I might consider picking up a cheap mechanical keyboard down the road and mod one with switches I can swap and try out different key types. I still love my old keyboard and I find the newer ones from logitech to be meh, same goes for most manufactures you find at the store.
