we remain funded.
My spouse and I (but mostly me) use You Need a Budget (YNAB) to keep track of our spending and it's been just the greatest. we have a shared budget for mortgage, heat, electric, groceries, dates, etc. and that's where most of the income goes.
I recently adjusted my paycheck split so that my "personal money" is much less, so there've been some growing pains there. It used to be that the shared budget was just the basics, but I think it's healthier and more organized to include the fun stuff we do together (like takeout and vacations) on the shared side of things. That means my personal stuff gets funded at kind of a bare minimum level most of the time, which makes me think real hard about when and how much I spend
With that, though, I'm really glad to report that my personal budget is actually doing really well. I'm funded ahead for the first time since making the switch (YNAB lets you assign money in the future) so I feel really good, and like I'm being a responsible adult ๐
