i mean its central critique is handwaved away by just saying "idfk everyone hates this, just deal with it I guess?"
the part where Peter just says "workers should stick together, fuck the bosses" had me excited that there was an actual point on the way but the rest of the conflict in the movie severely undermines this moment
I mean Peter's big growth is just finding different wage labor to do. But I don't expect a lot from the same guy who did Idiocracy, aka Eugenics Is Good: The Motion Picture
that's another movie that's completely passed me by, but I've heard that said about Idiocracy.
i think Judge's main contribution to society is being able to poke fun at blue collar stereotypes in a humanizing way and he should really just have stayed in his lane
what's so disappointing about this one to me is that it's compelling as an illustration of what wage labor does to someone, but when they try to solve the issue, it just doesn't work for magical plot reasons. like what a tease!!
I just like it cause of the ending and the gags in between. There's nothing of actual substance.
