just two bands polished to a diamond finish over twentysomething years of playing music, no surprises there

watching Brann play always makes me want to drum but I am so old and decrepit that my legs don't feel up to the task. standing up for 5 hours straight will reallllly do that to ya!

I love this band so much man. all their stuff is good but the unhinged bouncy fucking aggression of this album is so, SO good. it feels like the band taking a defiant stand against hopelessness. after their previous album, the baleful, despair-filled "Idol", it's refreshing

"blinded by the eclipse" would make for a hard backstory or line of dialogue in something ngl

for the metalcore enjoyers, Veil of Maya did an album called Eclipse inspired by the concept of having one's vision restored by looking at a lunar eclipse

and it did go hard as fuck

i actually really like Periphery V, i'm just sad they haven't done another concept album yet and nothing has hit as strong for me as the Juggernauts did

Periphery III was a big miss for me though. I dunno. maybe i just hate Motormouth so much that the rest of the album is poisoned
