i have a theory: you like what you read more if you have to spend time mulling over only a couple words at a time. i've tested this before! a while back i made a thing to make random troll names (pairs of six letter words) it used a file with many words (most of which i've never seen used), so it actually made pretty fun results! it's here btw. one day, i chose to have a troll name be a notif on my desk top every minute or so. i felt like i saw so many more cool names even though i saw so many less names than i could by just making scores and scores at a time! i think about this a lot with bots. more stuff means more cool stuff, but less stuff means you like the stuff more. you will always have to choose a mix of two good things. i'm sure this is very clear, but this post is trying to show my theory! i'm hoping that, by the time you read this, you will feel a sunk cost! you invest time, so you decide to like it! don't worry, i want to reward you for being so patient. meta talk is a reward, right? i have been having a lot of fun writing with short words. i'm sure that you noticed! why? so that height: max-content would be as tall as i can make it. this means the chunks of words are as small as possible. if you think this is kind of bad, that's ok! i have been trying a bunch of ideas today, and they have all been pretty meh (hah). i used to be a real choster! now i just have low effort text posts on my blog :[. anyway, whining aside, thank you very much for reading this post! you want a secret identifier to show that you are part of the PKC (patient kids' club)? a tag you can reblog with or a thing you can comment? fine. here: "kjlads advkj avskhj avskhj avshjkhj avskhj vnjovioe vio eio vi odiaov ivnii vioio vdiv iov ocxiov iw vi o". do that exactly or you are a POSER idk bye. ultra patience challenge below!

THIS WAS UNIRONICALLY A REALLY FUN POST. ik sunk cost fallacy bla bla BUT I found the part about the troll names generator really captivating because I had a similar type of thought after doing a similar project. I made a generic random name generator you could feed a config file and if your config was good it'd spit out some pretty interesting names. I actually made it so I could just randomly generate names for a new Nethack character because at the time I was working as a software developer and I'd figured out I can do like 8 hours worth of work in 2 hours and just put in my merge requests once an hour or so, and spend the other 6 hours playing Nethack, which I was bad at so I had to roll up new characters like once every couple of days, and the thought process was "if I spend 5 less minutes thinking of a name for a new character I can spend 5 more minutes playing Nethack". Anyways, I agadjksl ended up using it maybe once for its intended purpose because after testing it so much, even though all the names were interesting and unique in theory, after seeing so many of them I felt like I'd seen them all and I just lost interest in the project. I still pick it up and play with it once a year now, it's like my weird little pet project. I show it to my dad from time to time when I make changes to it.
