in the ways you can measure a game, btw, Fox Flux is a really good one. The level design is full of thoughtful choices, the sense of humour is completely coherent, and it's charming and sweet and very wholesome in how it tells jokes and characters work, it has excellent conveyance, and it almost perfectly balances 'you can do this if you try harder' and 'you can't do this yet but you'll work it out eventually' style level design puzzles.

Anyway, thinking about how to talk about it.

Planescape had a really remarkable fashion sensibility that distinguished it from any other product line in the Dungeons & Dragons canon, before or since. The slightly florid, slightly grubby Battle Of The Five Points stylings, juxtaposed against extravagant decorative blades, spikes, and other metallic accessories, helped make Sigil feel like a place all its own, and not merely someone's pinup-clean idealized view of culturally nebulous pre-gunpowder Europe.

and is also why I'm always gonna be hugely annoyed at what tieflings are in out of the box standard D&D now
