I'm looking for computer game recommendations!
So, recently my daughter was born (yay!) and even more recently, she decided she doesn't like sleeping unless she's being held (not yay...) but fortunately having her asleep in my lap counts, so I can have 1-2 hands free and a computer awkwardly placed somewhere nearby while she naps in my lap. I don't know how long this phase will last, but based on infant development milestones, at least for a few more weeks it doesn't make sense to try to train her to sleep better elsewhere. So I'm looking for ways to pass that time, since I can't really do much when she's like that. I've already read a few e-books (Lies of Locke Lamora, and Bullshit Jobs (man that one was depressing)) and maybe a game is next, or after one more book or something.
My game needs:
- Runs on an M1 mac.
- Not challenging. Some of the time I need to pass I'm too tired to really think deeply about what I'm doing, and I certainly don't need to add any other source of frustration like failing at a game. (Unfortunately, this means any sort of puzzle game is probably out.)
- Can't require precise timing or too much mouse dexterity (see: laptop awkwardly placed, infant in lap). So, any real-time game is probably out.
- Not dependent on sound, can be played muted or barely audible.
I'm pretty open to genres; maybe this is the time for something I haven't usually played. So, maybe some neat walking simulator? I haven't played many of those lately. A turn-based RPG could also work, as long as it has a difficulty slider I can turn down. A city builder of some kind as long as it's not real-time, or at least has pause. Or, dunno, whatever people think is fun. Anyone got suggestions?
