I'm not even sure how to summarize this deck, but I think the closest thing to a clear path to victory the deck had was:
- Runic Pyramid - At the end of your turn, you no longer discard your hand.
- Corruption+ - Skills cost 0. Whenever you play a Skill, Exhaust it.
- Strange Spoon - Cards which Exhaust when played will instead discard 50% chance of the time.
- Barricade - Block is not removed at the start of your turn.
The combination of those won a LOT of fights by giving me a large amount of reliable, free, and sustained block.
The way I beat the Corrupt Heart was: I saved up two Ritual Potions for massive strength gain and with a well-timed Double Tap and Reaper I managed to gain enough health to stay in the fight long enough to kill. The strength gain also obviously helped for the purpose of dealing enough damage.
Another thing that particularly helped during the fight was the Runic Cube, which gives 1 card draw every time I lose health. I deliberately took damage from the Corrupt Heart's Beat of Death passive ability to draw more cards so that I could rush drawing the Corruption+ I also needed to draw to gain traction (which was unfortunately very deep in the deck π‘π‘π‘).
Drawing Corruption+ was extremely essential to the deck's strategy because this was a 3 energy deck and without Corruption I had no way of gaining traction in almost any fight.
I thought this deck would lean a bit heavier on the combination of:
- Corruption+ - Skills cost 0. Whenever you play a Skill, Exhaust it.
- Runic Pyramid - At the end of your turn, you no longer discard your hand.
- Sun Dial - Gain 2 energy every 3 times you shuffle the deck
- Pommel Strike+ - Deal 10 damage, draw 2 cards
- Dropkick+ - Deal 8 damage. If the enemy has Vulnerable then gain 1 Energy and draw 1 card.
The reason why is that Corruption+ would thin out the deck, Runic Pyramid would allow me to retain what remained of my deck into my hand, then I could go infinite by repeatedly playing Pommel Strike+ and Dropkick+. However, Strange Spoon slowed down Corruption from thinning out the deck enough for most fights, but overall was still a good pick up.
Also, once again, a last minute Strawberry came in clutch at the end and gave me the boost of 7 health I needed to kill the heart (I ended with 4 remaining health). Truly, the god of strawberries smiles upon me.
