This pianist with hardly over 1k subscribers is one of my favorite living musicians. Such an evocative playing style and a constant mastery over harmony and arranging. I don't know if a post like this is enough to make a difference but I'd love for this musician to have more of an audience.

thank you for saying so!! the chorus came together really quickly, but the verses leading up to it went through a lot of iterations. it started solidifying when, unrelated, i was listening to Ryuichi Sakamoto's Anna and said to myself "i have got to get weirder." The chords in my track are:

I think it helps the chorus land more strongly when the chord relationships are more stable compared to the transient tonality of the verses. playing more into the tropes of the genre emphasizes the sense of arrival.
