fuckin' whyyyyyyy is it even a feature-in-testing that whenever you join any discord voice chat everyone and their mother gets to see that you're doing something, who does this benefit by automatically broadcasting that you're chilling to your wholeass friends list
like, small potatoes, I get it, but features like this only make me feel nervous -- I am one of the most anxious motherfuckers in the world and this really doesn't help
yeah I've never really understood discord's default settings being "we're gonna share everything you're doing", even down to what music you're listening to. I have it all mostly turned off, but that level of sharing is weird.
I'm right there with you, I suppose it makes sense from a social point of view but something about having global updates like that scares me for whatever reason
it's just big data culture i'm sure. more data, more metrics = good, because we are big data, and why wouldn't more data be good for doing big data? the more we can get you used to sharing it with your friends, the less you think about it when we share it with pizza hut or the cops or whatever
