Technically I cleared Doom (2016) off my backlog before moving on to this game after Witcher 3, but it was only a couple of levels, and I just have nothing to say about that game other than "Hey! This is pretty fun!"

Lair Of The Clockwork God, on the other hand, is a very good, frequently very funny adventure game that i want more people to play.

The premise of the game is that this two person adventure duo (who are also the devs) is having a disagreement about what their game should even be. One of them wants to be a platformer, and the other wants to be an old school adventure gamer, and neither of them will do the things the other can do, but you control both. The platformer character can jump and activate pressure plates, while the adventurer character is too weak and noodly to do either of those things, but they can pull levers, investigate, combine (not craft) items, and also talk to characters.

The first main level of the game has the platformer going through a pretty standard platforming level, death pits and all, and the adventurer character dies, goes to platformer character purgatory, and spends the entire level figuring out how trick the system into respawning at the end of the platformer level, so he doesn't have to do any of those silly things like running or jumping.

I feel like I might be underselling the platforming aspect a bit compared to the adventure game aspect, but the platforming is quite good, and the adventuring character can and will combine things to give the platforming character permanent power ups, giving the platformer a fun series of metroidvania abilities.

Overall, a very fun game that I am glad i was finally able to play. Also, more people should play it.
