In which I am forced to become good at video games.

Titan Souls is a game with a pretty simple concept. There are a handful of big strong enemies in the world, who can all kill you in one shot, but also all die in one shot1. It's pretty hard, but the inventiveness of the boss designs and sheer stubborness kept me going till I beat all 19 bosses in the game. All told, only took 5 hours, and i had a blast most of the time.

The other big star of the show here is absolutely the soundtrack, and it is very effective at setting the tone of the beautiful zones in the game, and hyping you up during fights.

Titan Souls is also a game that has Something vaguely going on. There is the suggestion of a narrative here, but it's not really fleshed out, and wasn't why i was there. I left the game knowing about as much about the world it presented as when I started it.

  1. Really, it's more that it's a oneshot kill when you hit their weak point, most of the game is trying to figure out what that is, how to expose it, and trying not to get hit while hitting it
