they should add a "How to view your engagement metrics" page on here that explains how to put the date and number of comments a post got on a spreadsheet
like I am 100% behind Jae's anti numbers action, a lot of people have an unhealthy obsession with number go up and most wouldn't recognise it as such, AND most internet metrics are bullshit and aren't useful for predicting anything. Comments on here are easily the most accurate "people thought about and cared about my post" number on social media since there's very few bots on here and you already get that number.
likes and views are the least useful metrics of anything in online advertising, you can easily see and like a post and not remember it at all 5 minutes later, you can easily have a bot do it, the platform you're on can easily make shit up and show you a big number and get away with that because accurately tracking how many accounts have seen a post is technically demanding and not really something you can actually do at that scale.
And that highly visible meme or engagement baiting post you made was has basically no chance of turning any of those people into a fan or a customer because it's lowest common denominator inoffensive content sludge designed to make numbers go up, instead of being you showing your thing to people who might care about it.
