being bipedal is fucked
basically zero other animals risk dying instantly if they trip over something

@jaidamack

the fact that standing height is a potentially deadly fall is an absolutely bonkers evolutionary trait, oh boy i can reach high and grab things whOOPs i fell over slightly wrong and cracked my brain case

fwankie
@fwankie

And we're less stable to start, loads of animals can stand around fine if they have a leg caught in something, most humans fall over immediately if you unexpectedly can't move a leg, and yeah potentially die

fwankie
@fwankie

like you are statistically more likely to die because you just fell over than you are to die because of a car crash, and car crashes are a wacky physics lesson we invented that kill a shitload of people, being bipedal is just that fucked

Don't most large animals like ungulates have big and very lethal issues if they do manage to fall over? Since it requires them to get caught in such a compromised position that one of their legs just breaks and humans are really the only creatures who bounce back from stuff like that.
