I'm Frankie, I play TTRPGs too much. I will be reblogging and/or posting a lot of furry arte and some of that's going to be kink stuff so heads up
AKA Nerts but that's going back a while
deviant art is fucking unusable for finding art any more because of this stuff, it's 90% of the search results no matter what you're looking for
Yeah, absolutely agreed. DA was exactly what inspired me to write this whole post - It's literally flooded with AI art.
Yeaaahhhhh preach.
P. S. Honestly this post made me really ponder deleting my DA account...
Pretty sad that we're living through a cultural grey goo scenario. Didn't want that for us.
God, you're not kidding.
Like, this shit could be used to improve our lives, and instead we're seeing it automate the joy out of our existence? What the actual fuck???
Give me the AI generated CEO instead. Those fuckers barely contribute anything of note to the world, and they're stupid expensive.
If anything, "AI" (it's artificial, sure, but not intelligent) is actually overqualified for CEO positions - it already has a staggering lack of introspective ability, and essentially just vomits out whatever set of buzzwords it hears most frequently. It's perfect.
I think they're trying one out on Twitter right now...
I have marked "I do not want to see this" on every AI art I see on DA and it keeps. Showing. It. To me. They have to have a financial stake in this shit.
It's the single most generic shit and the thing about Stuff I Search For is that it is many things, but generic, it is not.
I sympathize with people who struggle with artistic expression, but you know: I use HeroForge, and before I used HeroForge I had everything from Gaia Online to City of Heroes. This feels like a line's been crossed. I am no fan.
Yeah - It's the same utterly uninspired, regurgitated slop. Generic. The result of mixing all the paint together - only instead of using paint, they're using stolen artwork.
There are other options for sure. I am no artist, and I never will be. There are images, scenes, whole movies in my head that will never be manifest. But as you point out, there are other ways.
And honestly, none of this "click button, get art" approach feels halfway as awesome as commissioning someone, anyway.
I'm not a fan either - and I agree that DA must have some financial stake in this.
At some point I started just blocking AI artists but DA keeps effin pushing it.
