very frustrating to me that some bluesky user's answer to the site gradually turning into twitter again is to just not give invite codes to people who aren't nice, and to try and be nicer to each other

the issue is structural you fucking dweebs, it's not an issue of shitheads being allowed in, they're allowed in anywhere you are, you are all being incentivised to behave in certain ways by format you're communicating in and trying to be nice will not overcome this!!!!! It's turning into basically the same as twitter because the ways it allows you to communicate are basically the same as twitter

What's with the misunderstandings when I'm talking to you in voice chat? I think we should fix that, how about we all smile more while we're on the mic? I think that'd really help us be understood over the guy who's turning the gain up to max and talking over us.

Actually I guess this metaphor would work better if they were changing from mumble to teamspeak and expecting the situation to improve

like we can all agree that the vibe on cohost is kinda like tumblr because it functions kinda like tumblr, right? and bluesky is almost exactly like twitter but with invite codes in function, so it'd be surprising if it wasn't twitter but only the more online types?

I'm not even fully confident it passes any kind of core moderation test lol. Like, it pretends in its enduser-accessible filtration settings, that it is capable of automatically filtering hate speech.
Which is a bad sign probably, that they believe this is proactive, and it's a sign that they allow it, too.
