the ideal FPS protag is doing the Ross Scott "Good thing I've watched Die Hard like 50 times, otherwise I wouldn't know anything about guns" and doing the company triathlon to flex on the rest of the department act
Check out Abiotic Factor! It's basically like what if someone made the OG Half Life but multiplayer.
It does have the Survival Crafting Curse, but it's pretty fun in its own right. Nothing beats being a dorky engineer donned in couch cushion armor slaying not-bullsquids with that office crossbow.
It's also very Australian.
