I'm glad there's no like, e-sportsification of speedrunning. Like I know it gets competitive but it's the more chill and cooperative kinds of competitive, and not like, well, you know what esports guys are like

I remember some culture war skirmish about speedrunning once and one of the points someone was condemning speedrunners for was openly sharing their techniques and strats instead of keeping the details secret to preserve an advantage.
The idea that people don't wanna naturally pull the ladder up behind them in speedrunning actually pisses people off because their worldview needs people to not think like that to be true.
i was going to mention that the versus mode in back 4 blood literally had top players hiding their build decks and it always infuriated me
