with Pseudoregalia so thoroughly embedded in my brain recently i wanted to draw something using Sybil's iconic pole-standing pose, and the "Magical Girl (Gender-Neutral)" vibes of @bashfuldaydreamer's Kuma felt like a perfect fit. they have some very good Boyshapes in their character designs and it was fun to try my hand at!
this was a departure from how i usually tend to construct and shape characters, which is exactly the kind of thing i'm hoping to explore while drawing other folks' OCs - breaking out of usual habits and trying out new stuff! hopefully the fun shines through more than the inexperience (and the rust of not having drawn in months)
played around with the line style as well, and tried some stuff to add a little more interest and depth without shading the entire picture... to somewhat mixed results, but in an effort to try to actually get anything done ever, i'm trying to place the value on the process of experimenting rather than having the most perfect possible result
...also in retrospect i may have placed more Hip Emphasis than is really present in the base character design, but i am going to blame most of that on the fact that my pose reference was, again, Sybil Pseudoregalia. there is an inexorable Hip Gravity in her presence
