Made some progress on the first boss! More thoughts under the cut:
It's been fun figuring out how to pull off some tricks within GB Studio's limitations wrt enemy behavior and multiple hitboxes, but I'm a little worried about having enough variance in gameplay and enemy types to keep it interesting. I have a final boss and ending in mind, as well as some other bosses and set pieces, but given the limits on how many sprites and moving objects can be onscreen at once I might have a hard time making it challenging. I probably shouldn't put the pressure of making something the same length as a commercial release on myself, but I'd like it to be a decent length without padding out the stages too much. At least there's always something to work on on the graphics front, if nothing else.
